Tirzepatide is a dual GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonist approved for type 2 diabetes and weight management, possessing broad metabolic and anti-inflammatory effects. This article analyzes its effects on lipomas, lipedema, and the female hormonal axis, including its impact on the menstrual cycle. It concludes that the medication does not alter or reduce lipomas but significantly improves symptoms, volume, and pain associated with lipedema. Although it does not act directly on sex hormones, it promotes indirect changes—through improved insulin sensitivity and reduced fat mass—that can regularize irregular cycles or cause transient adjustments. Its use for these conditions is complementary and off-label, requiring multidisciplinary management.
