HEALTH EDUCATION AT SCHOOL FROM A PEDAGOGICAL PERSPECTIVE: DISCUSSIONS ON TEACHER EDUCATION

In a society marked by deepening social inequalities, growing emotional fragilities, and multiple vulnerabilities affecting children and youth, health education emerges as an essential dimension of contemporary pedagogical practice. This study aims to discuss health education within the school environment from a pedagogical perspective, emphasizing the challenges of teacher education in the face of the human, social, and ethical demands present in basic education. This is a bibliographic research grounded in authors who discuss education, human formation, collective health, and critical educational practice. The analyses reveal that the school exceeds its traditional role of content transmission and assumes a strategic position in promoting care, citizenship, listening, and human dignity. The study concludes that strengthening teacher education and intersectoral practices is essential for the construction of more humanized, democratic, and socially committed educational experiences focused on the integral promotion of life.
