This study addresses the theme of Inclusive Education and the Enhancement of the Skills the School Environment, highlighting the importance of understanding the school as a space for integral development and the promotion of equity. The relevance of the theme lies in the fact that school inclusion goes beyond simple access to enrollment, requiring pedagogical practices capable of recognizing and valuing the potential of each student. In a society that seeks to consolidate human rights and social justice, discussing strategies to strengthen the autonomy, self-esteem, protagonism, and participation of students with disabilities becomes fundamental. The choice of the theme is justified by the challenges still present in daily school life, such as attitudinal barriers, insufficient teacher training, and limitations in the use of pedagogical resources and assistive technologies, as well as the need to present solutions that ensure meaningful learning and full development.
The general objective is to analyze how inclusive education contributes to enhancing the skills of students with disabilities in the school environment. Among the specific objectives, the following stand out: understanding the school as a space for integral development, discussing the role of the teacher as a mediator of learning, and identifying pedagogical strategies that favor the recognition of students' talents and abilities. The results and discussions show, based on authors such as Mantoan, Carvalho, Sassaki, Beyer, and Mittler, that flexible pedagogical practices, inclusive assessment, positive expectations, and the use of assistive technologies broaden opportunities for learning and participation. It is concluded that inclusive education, supported by public policies and ethical commitment, enables the integral development of students with disabilities, promoting citizenship, autonomy, and human dignity, and contributing to the construction of a more just, democratic, and truly inclusive society.
