UNLIKELY TRAJECTORIES: SPORTS, SOCIAL VULNERABILITY, AND TEACHER TRAINING

This article problematizes the constitution of formative trajectories within contexts of social vulnerability, challenging the idea of mobility as an exclusive result of individual merit. By articulating contributions from Pierre Bourdieu (1989; 2002), Urie Bronfenbrenner (1996), Paulo Freire (1996), and Bernard Charlot (2000), it analyzes how sports can operate as a mediation in the resignification of paths marked by structural inequalities. In dialogue with Paula et al. (2026), it is evident that sporting practices constitute contexts for identity production, self-care, and the expansion of social networks. It is argued that unlikely trajectories do not negate social determinants but rather reveal their fissures, indicating concrete possibilities for movement and resignification.
