DYSLEXIA AND LITERACY: CHALLENGES AND EDUCATIONAL PRACTICES IN INCLUSIVE CONTEXTS

Abstract

Dyslexia is a specific learning disorder of neurobiological origin that primarily affects reading, writing, and spelling, without being related to intelligence or motivation. In the literacy process, children with dyslexia face barriers that may compromise their academic and emotional development. This article discusses the main challenges of literacy for students with dyslexia, presents effective educational practices, and highlights the importance of teacher training, school-family partnership, and the use of assistive technologies. It concludes that inclusive literacy is a fundamental right and that dyslexia should be understood as a different way of learning, requiring specific and supportive pedagogical strategies.
