BETWEEN SCHOOL TIME AND SPACE: CHALLENGES OF INTEGRAL EDUCATION

Abstract

This article discusses the challenges of integral education through the relationship between school time and space. The proposal to extend the educational journey should not be understood merely as an increase in classroom hours, but as an opportunity to diversify formative experiences that encompass cognitive, cultural, social, and emotional dimensions. School time is analyzed as a strategic pedagogical resource, capable of promoting meaningful learning when articulated with innovative practices. School space, in turn, is conceived as a living territory that goes beyond the physical boundaries of the classroom, integrating community, culture, and different learning environments. The reflection highlights that the effectiveness of integral education depends on consistent public policies, adequate infrastructure, and a shift in mindset, so that schools become plural and democratic spaces capable of forming critical and participatory citizens.
