This study aims to discuss the diagnostic importance of the Urinalysis (Exame de Urina Tipo I – EAS) and to review the main technical aspects related to its execution. A narrative review was conducted using the SciELO and Google Scholar databases, covering publications from 2010 to 2025, based on authors such as Cruz (2021), Debiasi (2020), Kasvi (2018), and Oliveira and Mendes (2012). Four laboratory samples were analyzed, in which physical-chemical and microscopic alterations were identified, in addition to errors in the pre-analytical and post-analytical phases, highlighting the impact of these stages on the reliability of the results. The findings indicate that, although the number of samples (n=4) is limited and illustrative, the EAS remains highly relevant in clinical practice, especially for the early detection of urinary tract infections and renal diseases. It is concluded that proper execution and interpretation of the exam are essential to ensure diagnostic accuracy and support appropriate clinical decision-making.
