A agricultura tem se expandido cada vez mais para atender às necessidades de alimentos; no entanto, observa-se o aumento no uso de praguicidas para manter a colheita segura. Efeitos de misturas existem e estão sendo cada vez mais explorados para compreender sua relação com doenças crônicas. Mas a simples existência de um efeito de mistura não significa que esteja ocorrendo um efeito adverso, o inverso também é verdadeiro, pois não há evidências conclusivas sobre essa causalidade. Este capítulo aborda os efeitos de misturas de praguicidas e sua relação com doenças crônicas, a fim de trazer um panorama sobre o conceito que envolve o termo “efeito de misturas”.
