Abstract

The increasing hyperconnectivity, driven by early and intense use of digital devices, has significantly affected the cognitive and behavioral development of children with special educational needs, especially those with attention disorders. This chapter aims to analyze the effects of excessive exposure to digital technologies on school performance and attentional processes in these children. The methodology consists of a bibliographic review of national and international studies published between 2018 and 2024, combined with an analysis of reports from education and health professionals. The results indicate that hyperconnectivity may exacerbate symptoms of impulsivity, inattention, and selfregulation difficulties, while, when properly guided, technology can foster inclusion and pedagogical engagement. It is concluded that the use of digital tools requires responsible mediation, educational planning, and interdisciplinary monitoring to minimize risks and enhance benefits in the learning process.
