DIETA E MICROBIOMA INTESTINAL: PAPEL DOS PREBIÓTICOS E PROBIÓTICOS NA SAÚDE HUMANA

Evidências científicas se acumulam ao longo dos últimos anos demonstrando que a dieta exerce papel determinante na qualidade de vida humana, principalmente por meio de modular microbioma intestinal e de sua interação com o ambiente externo. Estratégias alimentares baseadas no consumo de alimentos prebióticos e probióticos têm sido associadas à melhoria da saúde intestinal, à manutenção da integridade da barreira intestinal e à modulação de respostas metabólicas e imunológicas. Esses efeitos estão relacionados, entre outros mecanismos, à produção de ácidos graxos de cadeia curta, metabólitos essenciais para manter o equilíbrio intestinal. Nesse contexto, esta revisão explora o papel dos alimentos como medidas de intervenção na modulação do microbioma intestinal e contribuição para a integridade da barreira intestinal.
