Abstract

The expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has generated significant transformations in educational processes, challenging institutions, teachers, and students to rethink historically consolidated practices. In a context marked by digital culture, permanent connectivity, and the increasing automation of cognitive activities, educational innovation has become a central theme in discussions about teaching and learning. This chapter aims to reflect on the relationship between educational innovation and Artificial Intelligence, discussing the impacts, possibilities, and challenges arising from the incorporation of these technologies into learning environments. This is a qualitative study based on a narrative literature review. The analysis is grounded in authors who discuss digital culture, active methodologies, educational innovation, Artificial Intelligence, teacher mediation, and critical digital literacy. The results indicate that AI can contribute to personalized learning processes, broader access to knowledge, and the strengthening of more participatory pedagogical practices. However, they also highlight the need for critical training, teacher supervision, and ethical reflection regarding the transformations produced by intelligent systems. It is concluded that educational innovation goes beyond the incorporation of technologies and involves the construction of new ways of teaching, learning, and producing knowledge in a society increasingly shaped by Artificial Intelligence.
