This article discusses the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in contemporary education and their relevance to social transformation. The analysis shows that ICTs expand access to knowledge, promote innovative pedagogical methodologies, and contribute to social inclusion, while also presenting challenges related to infrastructure, teacher training, and responsible use of technology. Based on recent data, such as the TIC Education 2024 survey, and authors like Moran (2015), Kenski (2012), and UNESCO (2023), it is concluded that digital education, when well planned and implemented, can be a driver of social transformation, reducing inequalities and preparing citizens to act critically in a globalized and connected society.
