HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN THE PUBLIC SERVICE: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW

Among the many topics discussed within the scope of Public Administration, human resource management certainly stands out as one of the most important, since it is through the actions of people (public servants) that most of the services provided to citizens/users have materialized. In this context, this work presents the results of an integrative literature review, containing the main approaches to human resource management within the scope of public administration. To this end, we searched for scientific works on the subject on the SciELO Brazil platform in January 2026. The research was guided by two descriptors, used in association: “Human Resource Management + Public Administration”, with the aim of locating and selecting works written only in Portuguese and whose publication occurred from 2000 onwards. After selecting and analyzing the data, we concluded that all the works included in this integrative review present the theme of human resource management as central and strategic, both for the good performance of services and for the improvement of the organizational climate in public administration.
