THE SUSTAINABILITY OF LEGAL BUSINESS: DOGMATIC STRUCTURE, CLASSIFICATIONS AND INTERPRETATION IN THE CURRENT CONTEXT

This article examines the legal transaction (negócio jurídico) from the perspective of the General Theory of Law and legal dogmatics, emphasizing its foundational role in civil relations and its expanding application in other areas of the legal system, including civil procedure. Based on the principle of private autonomy, the legal transaction operates as a regulatory tool for individual and collective wills, producing patrimonial, social, and legal effects. In addition to presenting the main doctrinal classifications and interpretive criteria of the institute—especially in light of the innovations brought by the Economic Freedom Law (Law No. 13.874/2019)—this study incorporates the concept of legal sustainability as a key dimension for ensuring normative stability, predictability, and coherence. In this context, the legal transaction is understood as a normative pillar that balances contractual freedom and legal security in a constantly evolving society.
