The objective of this study is to analyze the importance of an interprofessional team in postoperative care for facial trauma surgeries. This is an integrative literature review, which used Lilacs, Medline and BBO-Odontologia as databases, via the Virtual Health Library - BVS, using the following Health and Science Descriptors (DeCS): "Facial Injuries", "Postoperative Care", "Comprehensive Health Care", interspersed with the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR". The search in the databases resulted in 32 relevant articles, of which 6 were selected after screening and careful analysis, documented in a PRISMA flowchart. The discussion emphasizes the importance of an interprofessional team in the postoperative management of facial traumas, the integrated performance of oral and maxillofacial surgeons, dentists, speech therapists and physiotherapists is essential for functional and aesthetic rehabilitation. It is observed that a multidisciplinary approach is essential to meet the complex needs of patients, promoting better results and quality of life. In addition, the literature reinforces the need for comprehensive and humanized treatment. In short, it is concluded that an interprofessional approach is important in the postoperative management of facial trauma surgeries, being essential for an effective recovery of the patient. It is also noted that there is a need for further studies on the role of different areas in the postoperative period of these surgeries.
