SEI: AN INTEGRATIVE REVIEW OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S ELECTRONIC INFORMATION SYSTEM

Abstract

Since 2013, the Electronic Information System (SEI) has been the official solution of the Federal Government for the production and management of administrative documents and processes in electronic format. It was developed by the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF-4) and made available free of charge to public institutions, with the aim of promoting greater administrative efficiency. In this context, this work seeks to identify, through an integrative literature review, the approaches taken regarding the system in question, and its direct relation to acts and/or practices developed within the scope of the federal public service. To this end, scientific works involving the topic were searched in the CAPES Periodicals and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) databases, between November 2025 and January 2026. The search was guided by two associated descriptors: "Electronic Information System (SEI)" and "Federal Government", with the aim of locating and selecting works written only in Portuguese and whose execution did not result from a literature review. After selecting and analyzing the data, it was concluded that there is a consensus among the researched works in recognizing the significant contribution of the use of the Electronic Information System (SEI) to practices ranging from transparency and document management to the promotion of greater administrative efficiency.
