Interdisciplinary care in urgent and emergency services is an essential strategy to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered healthcare within the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). This study aimed to analyze the contribution of interdisciplinary practices, healthcare innovations, and integrated protocols to patient safety in emergency care settings. This is a narrative literature review conducted through the analysis of scientific articles, technical manuals, and official documents related to the topic. The findings demonstrated that integrated work among healthcare professionals enhances communication, shared decision-making, and continuity of care, reducing risks and adverse events. Furthermore, the implementation of standardized care protocols and innovative technologies contributes to workflow optimization, improved operational efficiency, and the strengthening of a patient safety culture. It is concluded that interdisciplinarity, combined with integrated protocols and innovative strategies, represents an important tool for improving the quality of emergency healthcare services, promoting greater safety, better care quality, and improved outcomes for SUS users.
