Abstract

This systematic review, conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines, analyzed Brazilian scientific production between 2015 and 2025 across the SciELO databases. The study aimed to investigate the interdependence between human factors, ergonomic principles, and patient safety within the organization of hospital work. Based on a selection of six studies, the findings demonstrated that workload, systematic interruptions, and the normalization of deviance represent critical determinants for the occurrence of adverse events. Furthermore, the institutional invisibility of support staff emerged as a relevant factor of systemic vulnerability, capable of compromising organizational defense barriers.
