Abstract

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by persistent deficits in communication and social interaction, associated with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior, interests, or activities. It presents great clinical heterogeneity, ranging from mild forms to cases with significant functional impairment. Diagnosis is clinical, based on criteria established by classification systems, and management requires an early multidisciplinary approach. This article reviews the main clinical manifestations, diagnostic criteria, and therapeutic strategies, with an emphasis on current evidence.
