Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of continuing education in the development and enhancement of employee skills in organizational contexts. Specifically, it seeks to: identify employee perceptions of the impacts of continuing education on their professional practice; analyze the skills most developed through training activities; assess the relationship between personal and professional development and training processes; examine the contribution of continuing education to improving collective performance; and discuss the implications of these practices for organizational culture and work motivation. The methodology adopted is qualitative, with intentional sample selection, including employees who participated in training programs in the last two years. The technique used for data analysis was based on content analysis, organized according to Benjamin Bloom's taxonomy. The study's rationale lies in the need to understand continuing education not only as a functional requirement, but also as a strategy for human development and strengthening the competencies that support innovation and productivity in organizations. The results indicated that continuing education contributed to the development of cognitive, social, and technical competencies, in addition to strengthening professional self-esteem and increasing engagement with institutional objectives. It was also observed that the perceived appreciation of employees is directly linked to organizational recognition and investment in their training. It is concluded that continuing education constitutes a structuring element in building more dynamic, collaborative, and learning-oriented work environments, and is an essential resource for employee development and growth.
