This paper seeks to analyze the topos of the femme fatale in the historical process from Ancient Greece to the 19th century, discussing the construction of women in Western society. This analysis seeks to explore how the female figure is constantly placed in a position of subservience to men. In this sense, the female figure is influenced by social, political, religious, and geographical aspects, impacting literary production and, thus, reverberating on the formation of a female topos.
