INTERVENTION ACTIVITY: “WHAT DID WE LEARN TODAY? BRAZILIAN ECOSYSTEMS AND THEIR CHARACTERISTICS”

This article presents an intervention activity carried out with 6th-grade students at a public elementary school located in a peripheral neighborhood of Sergipe, Brazil. The main objective was to conceptualize the key elements of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems and identify the differences between them through an expository class and the use of a didactic game — the bingo “What Did We Learn Today? Brazilian Ecosystems and Their Characteristics.” The methodology adopted was qualitative and collaborative, supported by bibliographic research and the textbook Projeto Araribá – Ciências (2014). During the activity, students created bingo cards with keywords and matched definitions to the studied ecosystems, including Mangrove, Atlantic Forest, Caatinga, and Cerrado. The results showed that the use of playful resources enhanced student engagement, increased participation, and improved content assimilation. The experience demonstrated that interactive pedagogical practices can significantly contribute to science education by stimulating critical thinking, meaningful learning, and collective knowledge construction.
