This article aims to reveal the relevance of Paulo Freire's work Pedagogy of Autonomy, reinforcing didactic elements as important tools in teaching practice from a theoretical-reflexive perspective that offers support in the training of new teachers who have not yet mastered pedagogical practices and of old teachers who have forgotten them or who have never even appropriated them. It is also an invitation to resistance in times of ethical, political and pedagogical challenges, providing teachers with a critical vision, where they recognize themselves as agents of change, since teachers are beings of a political nature. The article highlights how the appropriation of this pedagogy can strengthen the autonomy of teachers and students, which is intrinsically linked to their educational process in the ideas of Morin and Nóvoa, while at the same time reinvigorating the educator's commitment to social transformation through education.
