The purpose of this article is to make an analysis of which projects financed by Finep - Financier of Studies and Projects can be considered eco-innovations. We studied the most relevant projects financed or recognized by the Finep Award and checked which ones can be classified as Eco-innovations. Therefore, the eco-innovation concept developed by Kemp & Pearson is used. To verify the data, a filter was made regarding innovations in the southeast region. Furthermore, among the various categories of Finep's innovations, the projects listed within the energy sector were evaluated. The methodology is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Thus, from a critical and discursive approach, the following questions are investigated: how many projects financed by Finep, in the southeast region, within the energy sector, can be classified as eco-innovation. The topic is relevant because, more and more, the potential of technology to solve environmental demands and the urgency of strengthening sustainable development are increasingly recognized, the discussion being relevant at a global level. From the results it was found that within the selected sample, a significant portion of the innovations in the Energy sector can be considered as eco-innovation, but the projects in question are not recent and of limited performance.
