Abstract

What was observed during the course of this work was that, nowadays, screens, which were previously limited to television, have expanded to media devices such as tablets and smartphones, becoming an integral part of the routine of people of different age groups and socioeconomic levels, including children at increasingly younger ages. The concept of digital media encompasses devices or communication devices that provide content through digital signals, such as the internet or computer networks. The use of these interactive media has grown significantly among children in early childhood, including those between 0 and 6 years old. Given this, it becomes essential to understand which digital media are most used by these children, how much time they dedicate to these technological means and for what purposes. And what cognitive consequences may children suffer in the future? It is hoped that the data obtained can encourage debates and assist in the development of useful guidelines for parents and educators who deal with children of this age group.
