SEXUALITY EDUCATION THROUGH GAMES: STRATEGIES FOR PREVENTION, SELF-CARE, AND SEXUAL EDUCATION

Sexuality education in the school environment is essential to reduce vulnerabilities related to sexually transmitted infections, sexual violence, and the lack of qualified information among children and adolescents. In this context, educational games have emerged as innovative tools that facilitate dialogue on sensitive topics and make the learning process more dynamic and participatory. Thus, this study aimed to analyze scientific evidence on the use of educational games in sexuality education. This is an integrative review conducted in November 2025 and structured according to the PICO strategy. The search was carried out in the SciELO, LILACS, Web of Science, and ERIC databases, using descriptors related to sex education, educational games, and health prevention. Original studies published between 2015 and 2025 in Portuguese, English, or Spanish were included. Of the 378 records identified, nine met the inclusion criteria and composed the final sample. The results showed that educational games expand knowledge about sexuality, strengthen preventive behaviors, and promote greater student engagement, in addition to reducing emotional barriers such as shame and embarrassment. The discussion revealed that playful strategies stimulate autonomy, critical reflection, and youth protagonism, contributing to more humanized and inclusive pedagogical practices. It is concluded that educational games are effective tools for health promotion and for developing skills related to self-care and risk prevention. Expanding research that explores different game formats and assesses their impacts in diverse school contexts is recommended.
