Abstract

The aforementioned text summarizes the method of treatment and analysis of an archaeological soil sample collected from the Serrote dos Ossos rock shelter, located in the Caraúbas region of Paraíba. The activities were carried out in the cave in question throughout 2022, during two expeditions. By measuring the pH, which presents a value of 7 (pH ~7), indicating a neutral level, data are obtained that help understand the composition of the local soil, including its alkalinity. Thus, the main objective is to conduct laboratory analyses and then compare samples from different contexts, soil depths from the excavations, and pH scales, seeking to identify the effects of these characteristics on the bioarchaeological record and samples analyzed.
