INTERCULTURALITY, MENTAL HEALTH, AND PSYCHOSOCIAL CARE IN VENEZUELAN MIGRATION IN RORAIMA: AN INTEGRATIVE LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

Interculturality, Mental Health, and Psychosocial Care in Venezuelan Migration in Roraima constitutes a qualitative research study, developed through an integrative literature review, which aimed to analyze the scientific evidence on interculturality, mental health, and psychosocial care in Venezuelan migration in Roraima. Specifically, it sought to identify the main factors influencing the mental health of Venezuelan migrants, examine the psychosocial care practices developed in the local context, and discuss the importance of interculturality in building more humanized and inclusive care strategies. The analysis of the studies was carried out using Bardin's Content Analysis technique, developed in the stages of pre-analysis, exploration of the material and treatment of the results, inference, and interpretation. The data were organized into three thematic categories: factors influencing the mental health of migrants; psychosocial care practices in Boa Vista-RR; and interculturality as a promoter of humanized care. The results showed that forced displacement, social vulnerability, discrimination, and family breakdowns have significant impacts on the mental health of migrants. The relevance of the Psychosocial Care Network, Primary Health Care, and interinstitutional actions in welcoming this population was also verified. It is concluded that interculturality, associated with the principles of Carl Rogers' person-centered approach, contributes to more inclusive care practices, strengthening the promotion of mental health, autonomy, and social inclusion of Venezuelan migrants, in addition to providing support for the improvement of public policies and psychosocial care services in Roraima.
