Abstract

The present study addresses laboratory alterations in patients with grade II and III acne, focusing on understanding the hormonal, glycemic, and lipid impacts associated with the disease and its treatment. This research was conducted through an integrative literature review, with a descriptive character and qualitative approach. Initially, 10 original scientific articles published between 2021 to 2025 were selected, and after a careful inclusion and exclusion analysis, 5 studies were retained as the most relevant for discussion. The content is structured into topics that organize the development of the work: the Introduction, which contextualizes acne as a highly prevalent dermatological condition; the Justification, which emphasizes the importance of understanding laboratory tests for differential diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring; the Objectives, divided into general and specific, delimiting the scope of the investigation; and the Methodology, which describes the systematic search in scientific databases. The expected results point to the identification of hormonal changes (testosterone, DHEA-S), glycemic and lipid alterations, especially in patients undergoing isotretinoin therapy. In addition, the study includes the Activity Schedule and the References used. This research aims to provide a critical synthesis of the available evidence.
