Chemotherapy is widely used in cancer treatment, but it is associated with significant adverse effects, especially nausea and vomiting, which compromise patients' quality of life and therapeutic adherence. In this context, Cannabis sativa has been investigated as a therapeutic alternative due to the pharmacological properties of its cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). This study aimed to evaluate, through a literature review, the efficacy of Cannabis sativa in controlling chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, comparing its effects to conventional antiemetics. The research was conducted in scientific databases, including Google Scholar, SciELO, Virtual Health Library, and CAPES Journals, considering publications between 2015 and 2025. The results indicate that cannabinoids may contribute to reducing the frequency and intensity of emetic symptoms, although they are associated with adverse effects that require clinical monitoring. It is concluded that Cannabis sativa represents a promising therapeutic alternative; however, more robust clinical studies are still needed to consolidate its efficacy and safety in the oncological context.
