QUALITY MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL APPLIED TO STORMWATER DRAINAGE ENGINEERING: AN APPROACH BASED ON THE PMBOK GUIDE

Abstract

Quality management and assurance have become imperative requirements in the competitive and fast-paced construction and sanitation markets, where failures in products and processes result in cost overruns and negative public perception. Organizations aim to mitigate project failure risks, ensuring execution remains within the triple constraint parameters of cost, time, and quality defined by project sponsors and clients. This study leverages the PMBOK Guide to organize and select best practices for quality management. The research developed technical documentation designed for Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) within a sanitation company, specifically focused on the implementation of stormwater drainage networks in Rio de Janeiro.
