DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-COST EXPERIMENTAL KITS FOR PRACTICAL BIOCHEMISTRY CLASSES

Biochemistry teaching faces challenges related to the lack of laboratory resources in many educational institutions, especially public ones. In this context, the development of low-cost experimental kits emerges as a viable alternative to democratize access to scientific practices. These kits use simple and accessible materials, enabling basic experiments that illustrate fundamental biochemistry concepts such as enzymatic activity, fermentation, and protein denaturation. In addition to reducing costs, they promote social inclusion, sustainability, and pedagogical innovation. Despite limitations such as the need for standardization, safety in handling, and adequate teacher training, the kits represent an effective strategy to bring students closer to scientific practice and strengthen their academic training.
