Abstract

Homeopathy is one of the Integrative and Complementary Practices officially recognized by Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS) since 2006. Its growing use in primary health care units has promoted integral, person-centered, and low-cost care. This article discusses the relevance of homeopathy in public health services, emphasizing its role in humanized care, reducing medicalization, and expanding therapeutic options within SUS. The study is based on a literature review and analysis of public policies, especially the National Policy on Integrative and Complementary Practices (PNPIC). It concludes that expanding the provision of homeopathy in primary care contributes to a more inclusive, welcoming, and efficient public health system.
