CHALLENGES AND ACHIEVEMENTS: THE ROLE OF THE SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER IN INCLUSIVE EDUCATION

This article addresses the relevance of Specialized Educational Services (AEE) teachers in the context of inclusive education, highlighting the challenges and achievements faced by these professionals. The inclusion of students with special educational needs in regular schools requires a differentiated pedagogical approach and specific training that enables effective practices. The text analyzes the essential skills that an AEE teacher must develop, such as the ability to adapt the curriculum, promote accessibility, and collaborate with other educators and families. In addition, the social and emotional aspects of inclusive education are discussed, highlighting how the work of the AEE teacher can contribute to the creation of a more just and welcoming school environment. Through experience reports, the article seeks to inspire reflection on the importance of this role in building a more inclusive society, considering both the daily challenges and the rewards of this practice. Based on a review of the literature and reports of practical experiences, the article highlights the importance of raising awareness and providing ongoing training for teachers, as well as the need for adequate infrastructure and public policies that ensure effective inclusion.
