The expansion of dengue vaccination in Brazil represents an important advance in disease control; however, it also increases the need to strengthen pharmacovigilance strategies focused on vaccine safety monitoring. This chapter aims to discuss the role of pharmacovigilance applied to the dengue vaccine in the Brazilian context, emphasizing adverse event surveillance mechanisms, challenges to maintaining public confidence, and impacts on public health. This is a narrative review based on the analysis of national and international scientific literature, official technical documents, and institutional publications related to immunization and vaccine safety. The findings indicate that post-marketing surveillance systems are essential tools for the early identification of adverse events following immunization, enabling continuous assessments of risks and benefits. Transparent communication, improved reporting quality, and integration between epidemiological surveillance and pharmacovigilance were identified as relevant factors for increasing the effectiveness of immunization strategies. It is concluded that strengthening pharmacovigilance actions is fundamental to supporting the expansion of dengue vaccination coverage and promoting evidence-based public health decision-making.
