THE INTEGRATION OF DIGITAL MEDIA INTO THE SCHOOL CONTEXT: PATHWAYS TO INNOVATIVE EDUCATION

This article analyzes the use of digital media in education according to the reality of Brazilian public schools. Digital technologies offer various pedagogical possibilities, such as strengthening the democratization of information, encouraging student autonomy, and diversifying teaching practices. However, the school environments impose significant barriers to their effective application, such as inadequate technological infrastructure, lack of ongoing teacher training, and disparities in students' access to technology. In order to support the investigation, a bibliographic review was chosen, which facilitates the gathering of multiple approaches related to media technologies and the educational process. The study aims to understand how these barriers affect the use of media in the school context. Additionally, it discusses methods that tend to enhance the overcoming of these challenges, such as public investment in infrastructure, digital inclusion programs, pedagogical updates, and the encouragement of incorporating innovative teaching dynamics. It is evident that for digital media to positively impact knowledge construction, it is essential to coordinate governmental actions, transformative educational methodologies, and the promotion of equality in access to technological resources.
