EDUCATION IN BRAZIL WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF LAW 5540/68

Abstract

The present work had as main objective to draw a parallel between the 1968 Universitary Reform and the developmental politics adopted by military regime. Critical dialectical was used as a methodology and a bibliographical research was performed which allowed a thoroughly reading of reality inside the history within its contradictions. The contradiction that education established with developmental capitalism implanted by military regime was adopted as analysis category. It was verified that it suppressed with labour force the subsidiary from multinationals which used to come to Brazil during the new expansion of capitalist system, in the new achievement of capital gains. However, in the final considerations, a remark was made on its dialectical character, where it was pointed out that even being used in an ideological way by the dictatorship, it helped to lead this dictatorial period to ruin through social mobilization.
