THEOLOGY THAT DECONSTRUCTS MYTHS

Abstract

The way we use language can influence behavior and define the way we live. For the Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, the borders of language are the borders of the world. This article seeks to reflect on the language used by pastors and preachers in our faith communities in the production of their religious discourses, which can transform thoughts and impact social interaction. Nowadays, is the language used by our spiritual leaders merely based on personal opinions with the simple aim of captivating and convincing the crowds, or is it based on studies duly interpreted according to theological criteria? Is theology a mythical or logical production? Fictional or scientific? What is the relationship between this discipline of knowledge and these forms of language? This is what we intend to present below, with the aim of reflecting on our religious experiences and the way in which these contents are transmitted to us in our faith communities.
