THE ROLE OF AESTHETICS IN THE PREVENTION OF PREMATURE AGING

Abstract

Aging is a natural and inevitable process characterized by physiological, metabolic and structural changes that occur throughout life, however external and internal factors can accelerate this process and result in premature aging, with the main elements being excessive sun exposure, environmental pollution, inadequate nutrition, irregular sleep and harmful habits such as smoking and alcohol consumption. Preventive aesthetics emerges as a practice capable of acting before the visible signs appear, using techniques that promote care and maintenance of skin and body vitality, including skin cleansing, deep hydration, the use of antioxidant cosmetics, photoprotection and therapies that stimulate cellular renewal, while also integrating healthy habits such as balanced nutrition and regular physical exercise, reinforcing the idea that aging can be delayed through a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. This study aims to analyze the role of preventive aesthetics in reducing the signs of premature aging, highlighting its relevance in the physical aspect as well as in the psychological and social impacts, justified by the growing demand for preventive procedures that promote self-esteem and well-being
