This work seeks to understand whether legislation, from an inclusive perspective, is effectively inclusive for people with disabilities. The general objective outlined had the following specific objectives outlined to achieve it: (i) To verify public policies relating to Inclusion, in general; and (ii) To analyze the effectiveness of such policies with regard to the education of people with disabilities. As a bibliographical study with a qualitative approach, it sought to outline the general policies that reflect on the inclusion of citizens and then turn the focus to the school. The results show that the school is much more socializing than inclusive, but it cannot be considered exclusionary, since it mainly seeks to ensure that disabled and non-disabled people have contact in the school environment.
