EFEITOS DA TERAPIA DE FOTOBIOMODULAÇÃO (TFBM) ASSOCIADA À ESTIMULAÇÃO ELÉTRICA NERVOSA TRANSCUTÂNEA (TENS) NA DOR E SENSIBILIDADE EM INVIDÍDUOS COM EPICONDILITE LATERAL: SÉRIE DE CASOS COM ACOMPANHAMENTO DE 30 DIAS

Resumen

Introdução: A epicondilite lateral é uma condição musculoesquelética frequente, caracterizada por dor na região lateral do cotovelo e comprometimento funcional do membro superior. A Terapia de Fotobiomodulação (TFBM) e a Estimulação Elétrica Nervosa Transcutânea (TENS) são recursos utilizados para modulação da dor, mas os efeitos de sua aplicação combinada permanecem pouco explorados. Objetivo: Descrever as respostas clínicas imediatas e em 7 e 30 dias após uma sessão combinada de TFBM e TENS em indivíduos com sintomas compatíveis com epicondilite lateral. Métodos: Série de casos prospectiva e não controlada. Cinco participantes foram avaliados quanto à dor pela EVA de 0–100 mm e à força de preensão antes e imediatamente após a intervenção. A funcionalidade pelo QuickDASH foi avaliada no início, após 7 e 30 dias. Resultados: A dor diminuiu de 52,26 ± 25,74 para 20,46 ± 22,92 mm imediatamente após a intervenção, correspondendo a uma redução média de 60,8% (p=0,0625). A força de preensão aumentou, em média, 5,49 kg à direita e 3,26 kg à esquerda. Três participantes completaram o seguimento. Nesses casos, a dor média foi de 13,33 ± 23,09 mm aos 7 dias e 2,33 ± 2,52 mm aos 30 dias. O questionário QuickDASH foi de 20,05 no início, 22,70 ± 12,61 aos 7 dias e 10,50 ± 4,86 aos 30 dias. Conclusão: O protocolo combinado foi associado à redução imediata da dor, aumento médio da força de preensão e manutenção da melhora da dor nos casos acompanhados. Os achados são preliminares e não permitem inferência causal em razão do pequeno número de participantes, ausência de controle e perdas no seguimento, no entanto, os resultados devem orientar estudos posteriores, com amostras mais robustas, padronização dos instrumentos e análise adequada.
