GOLEMAN'S EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND HUMAN BEHAVIOR IN THE WORKPLACE

This article focuses on “Emotional intelligence in Goleman and human behavior in the workplace”. Its general objective is to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence on human behavior in the workplace. It also has as specific objectives, to describe the importance of Emotional Intelligence for performance in the work environment; identify how managers deal with their emotions when interacting with their work colleagues and report the contributions of emotional intelligence to managing a team. It is known that the work environment is an often-stressful place, in which several conflicts arise between professionals. Yeah, it's full of people who have different personalities, which can influence conflicts in these environments. The survey consisted of 36 professionals (Managers and former Managers) from a public school in the Ensino de Carutapera-MA network during the month of January to February 2023 through googleforms, containing 5 objective questions, developed following a pre-established sequence. The present study was based on Daniel Goleman's theories, which supported the structuring of the research, relating the contributions of emotional intelligence to team performance. The same was of a qualitative and quantitative nature, as for the results achieved, it was evident that the interviewees understand that Emotional Intelligence helps people to be more motivated. She helps people understand what motivates them, what inspires them, and what keeps them focused. This increases work performance as it increases productivity. In short, it was understood that Emotional Intelligence is an important skill for job performance, helping people to better understand their own feelings and the feelings of others, cope better with stress, make better decisions and be more motivated. All of this, in turn, helps to increase teamwork performance.
