This paper seeks to discuss the contribution of Notório Saber as a reference for cultural resistance within and outside peripheral communities, drawing attention to how it participates directly and indirectly in the consolidation of identities present in its territories, as well as in the battle against the dominant elite that controls cultural hegemony. In addition, we seek to discuss the influence of masters in universities as a way of breaking the Eurocentric pattern that still plagues the academic world. Thus, this work is presented as a bibliographic review through which we draw on authors such as Antonio Gramsci, Stuart Hall, Douglas Kellner, Reymond Willians, Octávio Ianni, among others, which serves as a basis for discussion of the theme. The research demonstrates that by valuing the knowledge found in peripheral communities disseminated by masters, we not only help to perpetuate inclusion, but also challenge the hegemonic narratives that lead these communities and their masters to invisibility and exclusion of their knowledge.
