Abstract

Active learning methodologies are pedagogical approaches that place the student as the protagonist of the educational process, stimulating their active participation, autonomy, and critical thinking. Unlike traditional teaching, centered on the transmission of content by the teacher, these methodologies value the construction of knowledge through problem-solving, collaborative work, reflection, and the practical application of knowledge. Among the main strategies are Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning, the Flipped Classroom, and Blended Learning, which integrate theory and practice in a contextualized way. Studies indicate that the use of active methodologies fosters greater student engagement, the development of cognitive, social, and emotional skills, and contributes to more meaningful learning. In the contemporary educational context, these methodologies are aligned with the demands of a society marked by innovation, technology, and the need for the holistic development of individuals.
