Abstract

This article analyzes Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction (2014) from an interpretative perspective grounded in systems ecology and complexity theory. The research is qualitative, bibliographical, and documentary in nature, focusing on the audiovisual narrative as its primary object. The study aimed to understand how the storyline constructs, through symbolic elements, an allegory of natural cycles by articulating structural decay, energy dissipation, regeneration, and adaptive reorganization. The analysis revealed that the Diamond Domain represents a closed system undergoing entropy; the Heart Diamond symbolizes a vulnerable energetic core; Yveltal embodies ecological dissipation; Xerneas represents the redistribution of vital energy; and Diancie’s transformation into Mega Diancie synthesizes the process of reorganization under pressure. It is concluded that the film transcends the simplistic opposition between good and evil and proposes a dynamic understanding of environmental balance, demonstrating that destruction and regeneration are interdependent moments within the same systemic cycle. The narrative thus holds pedagogical potential by translating complex sustainability concepts into accessible symbolic language.
