DA CITOLOGIA AO TESTE MOLECULAR: VANTAGENS E LIMITAÇÕES DO DNA-HPV NO RASTREAMENTO DO CÂNCER DO COLO DO ÚTERO

O teste molecular para detecção do DNA do papilomavírus humano representa uma importante mudança tecnológica no rastreamento do câncer do colo do útero, em comparação à citologia convencional. O presente estudo consiste em uma revisão de escopo que tem como objetivo mapear as evidências científicas acerca das vantagens e limitações do teste DNA-HPV em relação à citologia no rastreamento do câncer do colo do útero. A pesquisa será realizada mediante busca sistematizada da literatura científica em bases de dados nacionais e internacionais, utilizando descritores e termos relacionados ao DNA-HPV, citologia e rastreamento do câncer do colo do útero. Serão identificados, selecionados e analisados estudos que apresentem evidências sobre o desempenho dos métodos, considerando aspectos como sensibilidade, especificidade, detecção de lesões precursoras, intervalo de rastreamento, aceitabilidade, acesso, custo-efetividade e desafios relacionados à implementação. Espera-se identificar evidências que permitam compreender as potencialidades do DNA-HPV como estratégia de rastreamento, bem como suas limitações e implicações para a organização dos serviços de saúde. O estudo poderá contribuir para ampliar a compreensão acerca da transição da citologia para estratégias moleculares e subsidiar discussões sobre a qualificação do rastreamento e a prevenção do câncer do colo do útero.
