Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of Anthropology in academic and professional training in Social Work, highlighting its theoretical and methodological contributions to understanding the demands of traditional peoples and gender relations. It is a qualitative research study, developed through bibliographic and documentary research procedures and supported by a reflective and critical analysis. Data collection was carried out on the Google Scholar, SciELO, and CAPES platforms. The main results indicate that an anthropological and intersectional perspective enhances the instrumentality of social workers, allowing them to decipher the complexity of territoriality and combat gender and racial oppression. It concludes that the dialogue between the two disciplines is indispensable for overcoming ethnocentric and bureaucratic views within the state apparatus. This articulation consolidates the ethical-political commitment of the profession in the defense of human rights, integrating the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into the pursuit of social justice and ethnic-racial equality.
