ANALYSIS OF THE SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE OF WOMEN AT ACARESTI - SANTA TEREZINHA DE ITAIPU/PR

Abstract

The study examines women's work in the selective collection of solid waste within the context of the Association of Recyclable and/or Reusable Waste Collectors of Santa Terezinha de Itaipu - ACARESTI. The objective is to analyze the sociodemographic profile of women who work at the ACARESTI Association, considering social, economic, environmental, gender, and personal development aspects. The research is characterized as a case study, with data collection through questionnaires, document analysis, interviews, and observation. The results of the research demonstrate that the activities carried out by ACARESTI members contribute to the social inclusion and socioeconomic development of the people involved in this activity. It was possible to understand the perception of workers in relation to the association's work, demonstrating that the organization and division of labor favor accommodation/adaptation/compliance with the distributed functions and the association's functioning. The association develops actions related to social inclusion, such as establishing partnerships with companies that can contribute to assisting members, in addition to supporting the existence of social programs and public policies of the city hall aimed at expanding and strengthening local socioeconomic development, encompassing all those involved in ACARESTI.
