Abstract

Active methodologies have become consolidated as innovative pedagogical strategies in Chemistry education by promoting student protagonism, content contextualization, and the construction of meaningful learning. This chapter aims to analyze the contribution of active methodologies to Chemistry teaching, emphasizing pedagogical experiences that foster meaningful learning and the development of critical thinking. The methodology adopted is a qualitative and descriptive approach, based on a literature review and the analysis of teaching experiences involving strategies such as problem-based learning, flipped classroom, investigative experimentation, and the use of educational technologies. The results indicate that the application of these methodologies enhances the understanding of abstract chemical concepts, increases student engagement, and strengthens the integration between theory and practice, making the teaching-learning process more dynamic and contextualized. It iconcluded that active methodologies are effective tools for promoting meaningful learning in Chemistry education, contributing to the development of more autonomous, critical students capable of relating scientific knowledge to everyday situations.
