Abstract

Polylaminin has emerged as a biomolecule of therapeutic interest in the context of chronic and degenerative diseases due to its structural and functional role in the extracellular matrix. This chapter aims to analyze experimental and clinical evidence related to the therapeutic applications of polylaminin, highlighting its effects on tissue regeneration, inflammatory modulation, and neuroprotection. The methodology consisted of a narrative literature review, including experimental and preclinical studies published in recent years in recognized scientific databases. The results indicate that polylaminin plays a significant role in extracellular matrix reorganization, promotion of cell adhesion, and molecular signaling involved in tissue repair affected by degenerative processes, such as neurological, muscular, and cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, evidence suggests its potential in reducing chronic inflammatory processes and enhancing cellular plasticity. It is concluded that polylaminin represents a promising perspective for the development of innovative therapies, although further robust clinical studies are required to confirm its efficacy and safety in humans.
